Saltwater Fishing Boats

Saltwater fishing boats typically have 20-24 degree variable deadrise hulls.  They often have center consoles so that an angler can walk around the boat as the fish they’re fighting swims around the boat when drift fishing or fishing at anchor.

Many saltwater fishing boats are equipped with multiple outboard engines.  Multiple engine configurations provide peace of mind when traveling far from home.  On center consoles boats in the 25-35 foot range multiple engine configurations can lead to exhilarating performance.  Fountain and Yellowfin powerboats can come equipped with up to 4 high power outboard engines which enable the boats to achieve speeds of over 80 mph.

Watersports Towboats aka Ski Boats or Wakeboard Boats

Watersports towboats are designed to have great charcteristics for waterskiing and wakeboarding.  Waterski boats have a shallow hull to keep the wake as small as possible.  They also typically have tracking fins and direct drive inboard engines located in the center of the boat.  The location of the engine reduces the underwater footprint of the boat thereby reducing the wake so that slalom skiers can cross it easier.

Wakeboard boats typically have the engine located in the rear of the boat and some have a sharper V shapped hull.  The sharper hull creates a bigger wake which creates a better launch ramp for wakeboarders.  Wakeboard boats are also equipped with towers to increase hang time for wakeboarders.  Towers are great because they also provide a place to attach board racks and speakers.
